Marvels Breakdown
A series I started creating during the COVID lockdown in 2020 breaking down the easter eggs and references in one of my favorite comics the 1994 series Marvels by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross. The creation process was both research and technically intensive, requiring investigation into hundreds of vintage Marvel comics and over 200 Photoshopped graphic assets per episode. I worked on this project during downtime my junior and senior years of college, finishing it shortly after graduating in 2022.
Vassar Online
Vassar Online was my final project for the Vassar film class Documentary: History and Aesthetics. This was a class I was taking in spring 2020 when COVID lockdowns began in the U.S., necessitating a turn to fully online learning for the remainder of the school year. As such, my final project became a film interviewing Vassar students about their experience moving to online learning and generally living through the early days of the COVID pandemic. The film is an interesting time capsule of the early months of lockdown, a very specific period of time that feels so different from life even a few months into the pandemic.
Comedy and Consequence
Comedy and Consequence was my final project for a Vassar drama theory class. After a semester of reading comedic plays and the theory surrounding them I came to the conclusion that one of the integral elements of comedy is a perceived lack of consequences for the events and characters in the plays by the audience. Given the opportunity to present our research in whatever medium we preferred I decided to create a video essay in order to incorporate as many of my classmates into the final project as possible, hopefully making it as performative/comedic as possible while still being informative.
The DECAGON Project Trailer
A trailer used to advertise the 46 Minutes Collective's inaugural dance theater piece The DECAGON Project. This trailer was originally created specifically for the 2023 IndyFringe Festival in Indianapolis, IN. The video footage was shot by members of the collective, including myself, and was edited by me.
